It's hard to pick a color...

Choosing what color to paint the exterior of this house is proving to be a real challenge. I mean a big pain in the patootie. Reason one being that the roof is such a weird color!!! It looks reddish, brownish, with hints of blackish, grey and can look purplish depending on light... it's just weird! It looks a different color each hour of the day! The second reason is the current colors of the house are almost a salt box gray on the body of the home and a pale brick meets coral on the shutters. The colors are just very, i don't know, unappealing in my opinion and sort of dated....

The first samples I got were from Lowes and True Value. They all looked so different on the house!!
Here is what the 4 samples looked like on the swatches, Valspar's Stormy Cove, Sea Spray, and Unforgettable and True Value's Dimly Lit...

Here's what they looked like on the house...  The Unforgettable looks like a pale butter yellow, the dimly lit looks pink, the stormy cove took on a deep purple undertone... the only color that stayed consistant looking is the sea spray!! BUT it is just a little too blue and bright to use as the body of the house. I also tried changing up the shutters, adding some gel stain, blur and ivory to them... they still looked like crap.
You can also tell from this photo, the roof looks burgundy! Ugh! When the sun hits it the house looks blue and orangey red with a reddish roof... oy.

The next colors I am going to aim to try is Valspar's Vanilla Steam, and Sherwin William's Natural Tan.... I am still unsure what to do with the shutters... I almost want to just remove them and go with a nice wooden board and batten shutter and wrap the porch post in wood as well... Still need to make up my mind on that.. Wish me luck on paint colors!
